We are located at the end of Geary Boulevard and the top of the
Great Highway.

Q Where do I park? Do you have valet parking?
We do have valet parking beginning each evening at 5:00 pm. There is also free parking on the street as well as parking lots up the hill and at the beach.

Q Can I make a reservation at the Bistro?
No. The Bistro is seated on a walk-in basis. For large party reservations Monday – Thursday contact the Large Party Reservations Department at 415-666-4005.

Q Can I make a reservation for a window table?
While it is not possible for us to guarantee window seating, you may request a window table when you arrive.

Q What is your dress code?
We do not have a formal dress code.

Q I have a wedding; who do I talk to?
Please contact our Banquet Department at 415-666-4027.

Q What’s the difference between the restaurants?
The Bistro is a casual restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner
with seating on a walk-in basis — reservations are not accepted. Sutro’s at the Cliff House offers a more upscale cuisine and atmosphere serving lunch and dinner — reservations are strongly recommended.

Q Do you serve food at the bar?
Yes. While seated at either the Zinc or Sutro's bars or the Sutro’s bar tables you can enjoy selections from the full menu or the bar menus. Appetizers only are available at the Zinc bar tables and the Balcony Lounge.

Q What are your hours of operation? How late are the bars open?

Q What are the times for the Sunday Champagne Brunch Buffet?
We have three seatings at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 2:00 pm – reservations are strongly recommended.

Q What kind of food is served at the Sunday Champagne Buffet?
The buffet offers salmon, steak, prawns, pasta, and assorted seasonal salads along with regular brunch items such as eggs Benedict, scones, and fresh popovers. For more information see the Sunday Brunch page.

Q What is the price range of each restaurant’s menu?
The Bistro main courses range from $12 – $28 (breakfast/lunch) to $13 – $29 (dinner) Sutro’s at the Cliff House main courses range from $16 – $36 (lunch) and $22 – $38 (dinner).

Q Can I make a reservation for eight or more people on a weekend?
Due to the large volume of business on weekends we are unable to make reservations for parties of eight or more persons.

Q When was the remodel?
The Cliff House restoration was completed in 2004.

Q Where is the mechanical museum?
The museum moved to Pier 45 during the restoration in 2004.

Q What is the Camera Obscura?
The Camera Obscura is a separately owned historical landmark that was built by Floyd Jennings in 1946. This technology was first created by Leonardo da Vinci in the late 1500s. It produces 360 degree live images of the Seal Rock area using a series of mirrors and sunlight that reflect on a concave disk. For more information visit www.giantcamera.com.

Q Are there seals on Seal Rocks? Where did they go? Why?
After the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake the seals migrated to Pier 39 where they proved to be a great draw for visitors to the Fisherman’s Wharf area.
After many years absence some of the seals returned to the North rock in 2007. They usually arrive during the summer and stay until the cold winter sets in.

Q Why are seal rocks white?
Centuries of bird droppings.

Q Is this the location of the Sutro Baths?
The Sutro Baths were destroyed by fire in 1966; they were located up the hill next to the Cliff House. Like all of the surrounding area, the Sutro Bath ruins are part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA), the largest urban national park in the United States.

Q Do you offer a children’s menu?
Yes, both of our restaurants do offer limited children’s menus.

Q Can I bring in flowers for my table or have flowers delivered? Who is your florist?
Yes, you can bring flowers or have them delivered. Our preferred florist is

Q Do you offer anything special for birthdays?
Yes, your server will help you celebrate with a small custard dessert and a candle!

Q Do you have handicapped access?
Yes, there is handicapped parking, an elevator, and ramps to access the restaurants.

Q Do you have live music?
Yes, live jazz every Friday night from 7:00 pm-11:00 pm.

Q Do you have a corkage fee?
 Yes, it is $25 per bottle for the first two bottles, $35 for each additional bottle, and $45 for a magnum bottle.
