Orquesta Conquistador Quartet

Orquesta Conquistador entertains with lively classic Latin jazz, traditional Cuban music, Salsa, Mambo & Cha Cha Cha. Carlos Ramirez, manager of the band has studied Latin percussion in Cuba as well as with bay area legends. Orquesta Conquistador band members are Nerio DeGracia on piano, Dave Somers on bass, Michael Parykaza, trumpet and Carlos Ramirez, percussion.

Anna Estrada and "Almasferas"

A well-known performer and actor in the Bay Area, Anna’s voice is imbued with the passion she brings to the diverse material she performs. Her music is an eclectic mix of Brazilian, Latin, and Jazz standards, all done with a Latin groove—the more familiar bossanova, samba, cha cha, and mambo rhythms, or the more unusual such as Lando from Peru or Xoxe from Brazil. Her band is made up of talented Bay Area musicians Ray Scott (guitar), Alex Baum (bass) and Bob Blankenship (drums). Anna was nominated Best Latin Jazz Vocalist in 2008 and 2009 for her work on her first two CDs and is currently working on material for her third project which she is hoping to release in 2011.

John Kalleen Group

The John Kalleen Group is a hot version of “Summertime,” a cool version of “Footsteps” and beautifully crafted originals! The JKG is a jazz quartet in the classic style, offering fresh compositions, echoing the admired hard bop and post-bop eras of the 50s and 60s, but infused with a modern, dynamic spark. And of course, they deliver swinging, spirited arrangements of the classics from those eras. An evening with the John Kalleen Group is a night of excellent musicianship, up-tempo energy and killer jazz with an incentive drive.

Fred Randolph Trio

Fred Randolph, the bandleader and bassist known for his warm, swinging sound and fiery solos, was born and raised in Hawaii. Fred’s passion for music, particularly jazz, led him to study the ukulele, guitar, saxophone, and trumpet before settling on his main instrument, the bass. Fred has released 2 cds, “Learning Curve”, and “New Day”, and is currently at work on his 3rd release. He holds a MA in Music Composition from CSU Hayward.
